Obituary
Dave passed away at the age of
62 following a brave
and courageous battle
with prostate cancer. At the moment of his untimely death he was
surrounded by his spouse and dearest friends.
He was born
February 19, 1949 in Whitehall, Montana to Philip and Katherine
(Hotrum) Duncan. When Dave was four years of age his family moved to
Dillon, Montana in order for his father to assume the position of
Montana Fifth District Judge. Dave attended the local schools
graduating from Beaverhead County High School in 1967. In 1971 he
graduated from the University of Montana in Missoula with a
Bachelor's degree in political science.
After twenty-five successful years at
the Seattle Gift Center
Dave made the decision to sell his business and retire.
He
relocated to West Hollywood. Not being one to let the battle with
cancer to slow him down, Dave continued to make the most of every
moment pursuing the adventures of travels to Europe, Asia, the
Caribbean, and South America.
Dave's bright and positive
outlook on life served as an inspiration to those who were caught in
the arc of the bright light of his being. He will be especially
missed by his family members who survive him in death; Lee Hurley his
spouse and life partner of 30 years, brother Monty (Kay) Duncan,
Butte, MT, sister Irene (Tom) Erdie, Helena, MT, sister Jane Duncan,
Missoula, MT, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private burial took place at
the family site in Pony, Montana;
